Thank you Cyclone.
On Wednesday we had a pleasant run, touching base with Albert Park Lake and returning to Middle Park via the beach, with the trail marked on the wet sand (hare Klingon),
Present were Shiny Dick, Addon, Klingon, Whippet, 4Pack, Pog, What she said, AhSole, and E&B (left early). I was good to see each other again.
The previous week there was also a run, attended by Pog, Klingon, SOAS and Chicken Dicken (hare Pog).
Pog will set the next run.

EnB is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting tonight at 8pm. That means you can go to Klingon’s run tonight as well as have a zoom meeting! Double whammer!!
As mentioned last week, send me a photograph of a scene while you have been walking over the last 6 months... the picture is to “confuse” us into believing you were overseas but in fact it’s a picture of you in front of something that just LOOKS like it’s overseas.
I’ll try to be clever enough to turn your picture into a PowerPoint presentation (I might need Cheesecake to help there!). Send it to me and we’ll see what happens.

Since attendees were pretty rotten at Lakeside history last week, I'm giving
you a second go at it and hope you'll get a few more right. Here are the
questions so you can look up the answers:
Hash Quiz Questions
1. Who was LSH3 Gm from 2017 to 2018 whose name suggests major stuffups?
2. Talking of major stuffups, what was the major stuffup that happened to
the last yearbook we had (the year of Astro as GM)?
3. In accordance with the well documented and fully researched product
review of the humble Trail Stamper by Cheesecake in the Year of ASTRO as GM,
what Trail Stamp was awarded the highest rating? (Star ratings were given -
1:bad; 5: good; 3: couldn't give a rat's.) (Hint: see the yearbook on
line.)
4. What were the location/venue and the theme of Lakeside HHH's 1700th
Run? (Hint: centre page of the Year of Cooch as GM yearbook.)
5. What was the theme of the LSH3 Christmas Party in the Year of Cooch?
(Hint: a page of pics towards the end of the Cooch yearbook.)
6. Where was the annual hash Balls Up held in the Year of Sweaty Box as
GM, and what was the theme? (Hint: first opening page of the year book
with Sweaty Box on the front - 2016-2017 - on line.)
7. Who was Run of the Year awarded to in the Year of Kok Up, 2017 to
2018? (Hint: last page of the year book, on line.)
8. In the year of Cut Loose as GM (2014-15), who won Best Drink Stop of
the year? (Hint: see the mag on the website; or remember an alcoholic
watermelon)
9. Which Lakesider proposed at E&B's St Andrews'Day Run and married
during the year of Cut Loose? (Hint: See the Cut Loose mag on website)
10. Who succeeded E&B as GM?

Dear friends and colleagues,
You are invited to join our La Trobe Archaeology Zoom webinar at 8:30 pm on Thursday, 15 October (Australian Eastern Daylight Time [AEDT]; for attendees in other regions, please check your equivalent local time) to hear Professor Andy Fairbairn (University of Queensland) speak on the topic 'Cultivating and foraging on Turkey's Konya Plain from 9500-7,000 BC: insights from Pinarbasi, Boncuklu and Canhasan III.'
This research has pushed the advent of agriculture in the region earlier than previously known. It was a way of life that formed the basis for the major Neolithic settlement of Çatalhöyük.
Register in advance for the seminar at the following link by 5 pm, Thursday 15 October (AEDT).
https://latrobe.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_o6KX4UQ0R7ycXpDXOQRJBQ
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Last week we welcomed back Mummies Boy and Swingers, along with the usual, E&B, Pointy, Cheesie, HoorayCO, NickelB and Bollywood.
We played The Saturday Age movie quiz, answers to which are as follows.
If M’s Marriage is Murial’s Wedding, decode the following:
R’s Infant - Rosemary's Baby
S’s Dilemma - Sophies Choice
C’s Mesh - Charlotte's Web
S’s Roster - Schindler's List
S’s Summit - Spencer's Mountain (we weren't sure about this one)
S’s Planet - Sophie's World (we weren't sure of this one either)
L’s Grease - Lorenzo's Oil
B’s Banquet - Babette's Feast
L’s Dash - Logan's Run
It was a mighty equal first place to Pointy and Mummies with 3 points each; Cheesie & HoorayCO came equal-second with 1 point each and Swingers got a half a point which can easily be converted to a whole point if we can confirm the name of a movie is Sophie's World.
Then tonight (7 October) we welcomed back to "hashing" Lube Oil and Lubang Oz - Yay! And we also welcomed Whippett for the very first time! Yay! And we moved the time slot to 8pm which suits everyone better.
We had a Hash Quiz of seven questions which only 5 out of 7 questions were answered. Swingers answered 3, Lubang Oz answered 1 and Pointy got half a point.
The General Quiz Questions were more difficult to adjudicate as everyone wanted to answer at the same time. The eventual winner, however, who gets a special prize donated by HoorayCO of a Bing Crosby Christmas Album, goes to Mummies Boy with 4 points. Closely running second with 3 points was Lubang Oz with 3 points; equal 3rd with 2 points were Pointy and Hooray; equal 4th were Whippett and Swingers; and left in the end were Bollywood and NickelB. Apologies to NickelB as all the poetry questions were in the next lot. And as for Whippett - he's a bit slow on the buzzer (unlike his marathon style). And Bollywood just entertained us with her use of the technology of zoom.
Lotsafun joined us at the end, showing off her hair cut!!! How come she gets a hair cut? Well it turns out that she and her engineer hubby did a hairdressing course and do each other's hair now...very schlick too.
Next week we will try to have a group game of Kahoot. I hope you can all join us at 8pm next Wednesday.
