Our third Liberation Lockdown run went well.
Possibly virgin territory for Lakeside. Thank you 4 pack.
Present were 4 Pack (hare), Pog, Ah Sole!,
Klingon and Drag On, and belatedly Mother Brown.
The hare accompanied us on the trail through the
parks and salubrious heights of Bruswick West. It
was 4 Packs's second time as hare. It was good
that he was there to keep us together. It was
good just to run and feel the fresh air.
We came across Mother Brown only after the run.
He was misguided to the run site by his satnav,
he said. He had arrived from Tasmania en route to
London, as part of his (pandemic affected) annual
migration. This was his first and last run here for a while.
After the run we obtained supplies from the
nearby bottle shop and proceeded back to the park
to have a pleasant social discussion. We also
gave Mother Brown and the hare down downs and
sang a couple of hash songs. After that we
departed at about 8.30 as we did on the previous two occasions.
Next Wednesday we will revert to Chicken Dicken,
for his postponed run in South Melbourne.

Egg & Bacon Pie is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Topic: Lakeside HHH circle Zoom Meeting
Time: May 27, 2020 07:30 PM Australia/Melbourne
Join Zoom Meeting
https://us04web.zoom.us/j/77755360428?pwd=bk1HUzMraGFFQjJvZlIvaHJxYUJzdz09
Meeting ID: 777 5536 0428
Password: 1Lxk7C
Tonight’s meeting had the company of:
Egg & Bacon Pie,
Backbeard,
Cheesecake,
Cyclone,
HoorayCO,
NickelB,
Prickly,
Swingers.
Cooch said hello at the start.
Point Post joined from Pog’s run in Richmond, alongside Chicken Dicken, Four Pack, Pog and Klingon.
Cheese gave a report on Pythagararse’s run in Brighton today at noon where participants included Pythag himself, Cheesie, Colours, HoorayCO, and Cuddles. The run went thru our Heart Attack Park (Cheltenham Station park) and the old Cheltenham cemetery and included lots of greenery. Cuddles provided a delicious meal afterwards on sterilised plates and they formed a circle, appropriately distanced 1.5 meters apart and continued to shout to each other. Sounded like a pretty nice place to be on this fine Melbourne Autumn afternoon.
And right at the end, Bollywood and Botox Chin joined us.
NickelB proved that he is not only the oldest member and participant, but also the most active: he accepted the Cheesecake challenge and ran a total of 36 km over 4 runs in the week.
HoorayCO ran 27 in the 7 days.
Cheesie did 18; Egg & Bacon Pie did a lousy 7 and Prickly and Cyclone did a combination of cleaning out the cutlery drawer 3 times and twisting an ankle.
Backbeard gets the prize for most creative by running up(and presumably down too) stairs equal to 12.62km as well as a real, live hash run in KL that had hills, shaggy, and booze. He conducted a poll where we had to vote for pies or radiuses or diameters or something. No idea what language he was speaking as I haven’t done a maths class since 1972 and T2’s grade 6 maths doesn’t talk about pies and circumfrances yet.
The weather at Pog’s run site in Richmond was reported by Chicken Dicken to be “Nipple cold” as opposed to brass monkeys.

I agree. Well done Cyclone, and well said.
We plan to resume New Moon on Sat 23 May, with
similar arrangements, running from a park.
Full Moon will resume on Sunday 7 June provided
the number limit is lifted from 10 to 20 by then.

Egg & Bacon Pie has invited you to a scheduled Zoom meeting this week. Mark the password and details (see below) in your diary and join us TONIGHT.
We hope to join Pog’s group LIVE when they come in from their run.
We hope to also hear from Pythag’s group. Some run reports from both hares and participants would be welcomed.

Last week Egg & Bacon Pie hosted the zoom circle and pretty much stuffed it up. She sort of remembered something going askew (probably a brain cell) when she was setting up a week before and so the inevitable happened : hashers were waiting impatiently banging down the virtual door to get in but there was no entry without a password.
Anyway eventually they were all let in when they said their pleas and thank yous and we proceeded with appropriate bullshit for the next 20 minutes... until... Klingon interrupted from the OFFICIAL hash run at his place and he didn’t have anything to get in with - not even a plea or thank you. So we had the pleasure of the company of Let Me Look, sitting dangerously socially unacceptably close to Klingon in his kitchen.
We noted and met up with (albeit briefly) the turnpikes of Cyclone and Peanuts at Klingon’s walk.
And Chicken Dicken finally turned up to say hello, after he had run Klingon’s run. Also at Klingon’s was IME, from now on who will be referred to as Let Me Look’s Souvineer (thanks to Hooray CO).
Four Pak apparently got lost on Klingon’s run.
Regular attendees and contributors were Backbeard, Bollywood, Cheesecake, Hooray CO, NickelB, Point Post, Swingers.
Nobody but the overly fit, enthusiastic, young at heart, vivacious Egg & Bacon Pie claimed to accept and actually pass Cheesecakes challenge, by Walking the Goat Track twice on Mother’s Day, again yesterday and a walk around Richmond today after forcing her mother-in-law to sing Scotland the Brave before she could have her lunch. The grand prize went to Egg & Bacon Pie.
One more chance at fame was offered by Cheesecake: run or walk between 20-25km by next Wednesday and report it at next week’s zoom meeting.
Note the following or forever hold your piece (!):

Good morning Lakesiders
I hope you are all managing to hold on to your sanity - and hash sense of
humour during these crazy Covid 19 times. Thanks for your patience
throughout the restrictions - we are all looking forward to getting back to
a new normality at some stage - hopefully in the not too distance future.
We had a committee meeting on Monday evening and there are a few updates.
We discussed what a slow start back to runs might look like and how it
might be managed. Other H3's are also working through this and there are a
few different approaches.
The Victorian Government regulations are beginning to ease - allowing
groups of 10 and maintaining social distancing is allowable for exercise
and picnics - not for competitive sport but social gatherings is ok.
However, it is acknowledged that the Covid 19 virus control is still a bit
tenuous and the committee have erred on the side of caution and decided
that we will not start official runs for the time being. This will be
reviewed Monday 1 June - by which time we are hoping that the government
restrictions have been eased back to allow gatherings of 20 and we will be
in a much less risky situation for a possible official restart.
For those of you with a nagging hash itch we agreed on a solution that may
work. Codpiece updated us on how the Sydney Hash groups are working around
official runs - The run / walk is set by Monday morning either in chalk and
flour or in Map my run and chalk is left at the start (carefully tucked
away) Hashers walk or run - individually or in their usual exercise pairs
only and in their own time before Wednesday evening - making sure they
write their hash names at the start and take a photo of it and taking a
selfie or two along the way. They then have the circle via zoom on
Wednesday evenings - with plenty of home based down downs.
While this hash-with-a-twist is not pure hash it seems like a good interim
solution and if there is no gathering the committee agreed that any LH3
hasher is welcome to set a run keep a record of those who participate and
provide a report - and it will be considered official. We are without a
trail master at the moment so hares will need to self nominate.
E&B has a zoom hash circle / catch up on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 already
running - just check your emails for the link to join in.
We are in a very unusual period and we need to be flexible and responsive
to changes in rules, regulations and appetites for risk. We have had a
couple of last minute change-of-plans since mid- March - this is
unavoidable. Klingon organised a run last Wednesday - before the committee
decision for no official runs before June - members signed in and a record
was kept - so in the spirit of hash honesty and fairness and not make
decisions retrospectively - this will be considered an official run.
I am aware that there are now unofficial runs and walks planned over the
next week or so. Please take care and enjoy the last of the autumn weather.
The other major decision to come out of the committee meeting was to defer
the AGM until September - this decision can also be reviewed as the
situation changes.
Thanks again everyone - for your support, commitment to LH3 and your
patience with all the changes.
I will send another update immediately after out review meeting on Monday 1
June.
Take care - stay healthy - keep in touch (even in iso)

The all-knowing Lakeside GM has recognized the Victorian Government has
power almost equal to her own and if more than 10 come, we will head out in
two separate groups. Social distancing rules (1.5 metres apart) to be
observed. Sadly, the nosh and circle will also be restricted to
separate groups of 10 if more than 10 show up.
- Nosh and implements will be provided but please bring your own drinks

Hi hashers
What with ENB’s campaign to save the planet from plastic and Cyclone’s
campaign to save us from the dreaded virus, we can’t use the normal clear
plastic cups-glasses at drink stops & circles and it’s deeply impractical
to lug around one’s own drinking vessel because they’re usually cumbersome
and heavy.
At decathlon today I found this thing (see picture). It squashes up, weighs
10 grams, has a plastic ring for attaching to things, holds 200 mls. So
runners or walkers can attach it to a body part - it’s light enough to be
an earring, or stick it on your dog’s collar so one could still run or walk
without any encumbrances and voila - you would have your own drinking
vessel at the drink stop and circle. the body is some sort of squishy
rubberised plastic stuff and rim and ring are plastic. It wouldn’t last
forever, but you’d get a few months out of it and it’s better than what
we’re trying to do now. You can get any colour as long as it’s blue.
They cost $10 and yes, it’s highway robbery, but if anyone wants one I can
revisit Decathlon next week and buy a couple.
