Hullo Lakesiders,
Was just on the Zoom LSH3 run and some expressed interest in our current Zoom Webinar program (attached). It was felt that an exception might be granted to the usual ban on civilian matters intruding into LSH3 business (notice how I carefully avoid writing the 'H' word?), administrator (Swingers) willing! One of the positive things about the current emergency is that we have been prompted to connect with friends and colleagues all over the world via the internet.
So you are invited to an online Zoom Webinar scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, 23 July (Australian Eastern Standard Time, Melbourne, Australia).
Cameron Petrie (University of Cambridge) will speak on the topic. 'Does climate change really cause collapse? Insights into the Indus Civilisation from the Land, Water and Settlement and TwoRains projects.'
The talks range from technical to easily comprehensible. Zoom Webinars are a bit different to the normal Zoom meetings. When you join, you will have your video off and audio muted, but if you want to ask a question at the end, press 'Raise Hand' and I promote you to being a 'panellist'; then you can be seen and heard.
To attend, register in advance before 5pm on Thursday, 23 July at this link:
https://latrobe.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_80WdpL56TtqzM7dJ8zAjbg
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
I manually approve registrations to ward off internet trolls. So, if you get a response challenging who you are because I don't recognize you in real life, shoot back an email mentioning the words 'LSH3', your moniker, and perhaps two other words, one of which is 'Off!', in any particular order.
Please note it is not possible for the host to approve your registration at or near to the start of the seminar while I'm also hosting the meeting.

Tonight,s meeting was attended by Egg & Bacon Pie (host), Cheesecake, Point Post, Bollywood, HoorayCO, Lotsafun, NickelB and a first time visit from Mummies Boy and Daddy,s Boy.
This was the first time back to zoom meetings for about a month which may or may not explain the small but quality turnout. Pointy did a walk around his streets finding dead ends to use for future hash runs - if he can remember how to set a run by the time we all get back to hashing in the flesh!
Cheesie didn’t need to expand on her detailed email that she sent earlier this week about the rigorous designer personalised daily boot camps she has with Back Again.
Mummies Boy joined so he could tell us about the measurement of his property and the angles of its hills and stairs of which he has been running and hobbling regularly; and its buggered him up so much he decided to buy a townhouse in Freshwater Place so he could run on the river flats instead and avoid the hills of Wattle Glen.
Lotsafun wasn’t watching Masterchef and NickelB was still proudly displaying their air conditioner and were silent throughout: pity S NickelB usually wins the prize of doing the most exercise. But that goes to Cheesie this week.
HoorayCO displayed her wares for sale - home made, designerCOVID19 masks, with a dual purpose for young ladies who are caught out!
Bollywood compared the costs of hired help in Malaysia to here.
Egg & Bacon Pie described Capital Hash run last Sunday where a run is set by 3pm Sunday and Hashers can do the run any time between then and 7pm Monday night when they have the circle via zoom. Lots of hashes are doing it this way which is great as you can choose the time of day or night and the weather etc.
And Daddy’s Boy told a few jokes:
Knock knock
Who’s there?
Boo
Boo who?
Don’t cry; it’s only a joke.
And th th th th that’s all folks!!!

Hi folks
This is one of the programs which Back Again has prepared for we ladies who
used to go to the gym running class but who now meet at Hampton Beach or
Sandy Athletics Track each morning. She’s doing an amazing job keeping us
all motivated. It’s getting tricky now we have to work in pairs.
You do 2 star jumps then run for 200 metres, then 2 star jumps plus 3 jump
squats and run 200 metres, then 2 star jumps, 3 squat jumps 4 lunges on
each leg then run and do it all again plus 5 push ups then run again and
keep adding an exercise between each run until you’ve everything up to and
including 12 mountain climbers, then you de-accumulate. 12 then run then
12 plus 11 and run, then 12, 11 plus 10 then run......The whole thing
should take an hour.
If you don’t want to run, speed walk for 100 metres or march on the spot
for 30 seconds. Apart from a yoga mat, available from your local $2 shop,
you don’t need any equipment, just use council supplied park benches or a
sea wall built in the 1930s.
Instead of proper push ups you can rest on your knees and push up or lean
arms on a park bench armrest and push up. For sit ups and crunches, bend
your knees if you have any back pain. And for the jumpy exercises, don’t
jump just step if you’ve got dodgy knees.
Here’s to staying out of that nursing home.

Dear All
12 souls turned up for the liberation run #9. Thankfully, the weather was
kind to us, as the rotunda we were going to use was closed by the Council.
The run/walk was about 7km long and all participants were back in an hour.
Back Again scored the run at 8.5 out of nine and Let Me Look scored the walk
at 8 out of nine.
After a short circle, the kababs arrived.
As Cheesecake said, the Kebabs were huge as well as delicious.
Thanks to Back Again for bring the doughnuts and the ANZAC biscuits.
Well, it's only 42 days (lent + 2days) until the next run.
Suggest we called it the Resurrection Run.
On On
Grouse run set by Gargoyle and Udder, not too long and a good fast pace.
And they got the weather right. Biggest chicken kebab I’ve ever had and
Back Again brought some donuts for dessert.
See you all in 6 weeks.
Cheers
Cheesecake
Dear All
Due to the imposition of stage 3 restrictions, only two people will be
allowed to gather in public.
Tomorrow's run will therefore be cancelled.
Looks like we cannot expect to hold another run until late August.
