Below is write up of last week's run from E & B.
Tomorrow: Golden Square Bicentennial Park, Madden Grove, Burnley.hare Cooch
Wed Dec 16, Grattan Gardens, Prahran. Hare Klingon
Future runs: please post here to volunteer.
On on , Klingon.
Lakeside run number. 1973 was in honour of the patron saint of Scotland, St Andrew - as
has been the custom in Lakeside on the last Wednesday of November (or 1st Wed of December)
for the last 20 years.
As promised, due to Covid19, this 20th anniversary celebration did not have live bagpipes,
haggis, roast beef or a Robert Burns ode. BUT it did have a visitor from Kampala, Uganda,
two walk-ins who thought we looked like fun, three virgin hashers, two returnees
(including an ex-GM), two to farewell, some plant based barbequed snags and a bottle of
whisky. Most importantly and surprisingly, we had Hash Grog for sale, thanks to Point Post
for bringing it after Kokup had taken it to him during the week. The sale of grog
encouraged visitors to stay and chat and added to the atmosphere.
The run was set from Richmond with the usual pre-run statement of Richmond having only one
hill which is easily avoided; and indeed it was avoided. We crossed the river to run and
walk a very hilly trail of suburbia and bushland in KEW. The runners did about 10km and
the walkers about 6. All stopped for a spot of Bells whisky during the run, watching the
sun set behind the Melbourne CBD. The hare was E&B (Egg & Bacon Pie) who was
kindly given a score of 10 out of 1973 by POG (considered an extreme compliment) and an
equally complimentary score of 110 out of 100 by Old Boar. Udder took the lead to run the
circle and welcomed the visitors, virgins and returnees; and farewelled IME and Let Me
Look (they will be doing more farewells than Johnny Farnham soon).
Were all set to do it again next week!

Dear Hashers,
The run for the coming week (9 Dec 2020) will be from Golden Square Bicentennial Park,
Madden Grove, Burnley.
In the circle last week, Klingon was proposed to do this run and I was to hare the
following week. But I had a clash on 16 Dec so we swapped.
Much the same format as last week.
BYO drinks.
Maybe a few snacks.
The Rising Sun Hotel on the corner of Burnley and Swan Streets for those who want to OnOn
