Dear Friends and Colleagues,

You are invited to join our La Trobe Archaeology Zoom webinar at 3:00 pm on Thursday, 18 March (Australian Eastern Daylight Time [AEDT]).

Dr Hilary Howes (Australian National University) will speak on ‘Uncovering Pacific Pasts: An International Exhibition on Histories of Archaeology in Oceania.’

From the eighteenth century, the cultural productions of Pacific peoples fascinated and challenged the nascent disciplines of  archaeology and anthropology. In turn, Pacific peoples interpreted and reimagined the tools and weapons brought to them by European visitors. This talk will  revealed the interconnected histories of Pacific objects displayed world-wide by the ‘Collective Biography of Archaeology in the Pacific’ Project.

Register in advance for the seminar at the following link by 12 noon, Thursday 18 March (AEDT).
