Dear Lakeside Hashers Welcome to 2022 and our first run for the year from Gumbri Park also known as Batman Park, Northcote. This renaming in 2017 was looked upon as a positive community sentiment in the renaming of the park, reflecting the communities enthusiasm of reconciliation. That the name Batman still dominates the entrance is explained thus: Feedback also explored retaining the visibility of Batman in the park in some form, rather than a simple name replacement. This would provide an opportunity for keeping all layers of history visible, raising awareness and acknowledging the past with respect.
