To all!
A lovely group of Lakesiders (and two visitor/virgins/newcomers) joined in
for some fun at Inverloch on Saturday 20th February to celebrate Bollywood's
birthday.
Botak Chin set the run through the suburb of Inverloch, winding around the
streets, up the hill, and then down through the camping ground and to the
eastern end of town to the Bass Coast Shir Council's Native Vegetation
Offset Scheme is located. He sent the runners up the path on a loop to look
for the wildlife while the walkers were sent back along the beach. The tide
was way out in Anderson Inlet. Lots of families were on the beach playing
cricket and going out in the sea up to their knees. (I don't think it got
much deeper than that.) Eventually the arrows - which along the beach were
a bit sparse - got us to the Inverloch yacht club where Botak had arranged
for us to have drinks on the back deck. We waited for Udder and Gargoyle to
turn up - they had missed the arrows and hadn't listened to the instructions
and actually ended up back at the start. We drank another bottle of plonk
while we waited. That's when we also realised that cheap 6% white wine from
ALDI is not worth buying or drinking! When we finished the stuff we
wandered back to the start for the down downs and then Botak's baked chicken
drumsticks, Bollywood's oodles of noodles and E&B's chocolate pavlova.
All finished up just before sunset and we wandered off in different
directions.
The run was scored 1980 out of 1987. The walk was a little lower at 1900.
We all agreed that more weekend runs were required!
See happy snaps attached.
