Dear Lakeside Hashers
This run may take us rather close to Muswell Hill, Pointys former residence and birthplace of the pizza, fruit cake & wine/beer combo, although perhaps as 2020 nears its more likely to be the pizza, fruit cake and cup of tea combo! Haha. Now lets get serious. Lets put the terrain we are likely to run/walk through under the microscope. With the freeway dominating the scene, possibilities excite as to trail. Footbridges go over the freeway and bike paths under it and alongside it and through it! (Yes really!) Expect to run/walk into some spectacular views of wetlands, parklands and reserves as Kokup weaves his magic around this concrete monster. Weather forecast is for a warm evening so come prepared for this.

What She Said & Prince have crafted a quirky little run full of Yarra River flavour. You might be tempted to try a Mac Daddy (Dark Ale) or maybe an Old Mate (Pale Ale) or perhaps even their specialty - Moon Dog lager (Lager beer). Then there is their Tropical Lager (Beer Can Beer) and lets not forget this little beauty: Bad Boy Bubbly! (Barley Champagne).

Ready to go, set to run - and they’re racing in the 2019 Lakeside Handicap for Mugs over 1200 metres! Back Again from the centre jumped away well. In hot pursuit of her is What She Said, on the outside of these two are Cooch and Prince jostling for room, half a length to Udder Idjit, HoorayCO showing early dash, followed by 4Pack, one length to Prickly Bush then Lethal, What a Cokup looking for a rails run and behind him is Astro Boy. Then two lengths to Swingers, 2Bottoms nice and close, trying to tuck in behind them is Cut Loose, Colours, Cyclone Tracy and Egg & Bacon Pie. Further back and by no means out of it is Klingon, Punch and 2 lengths to Cheesecake last of all. At the 1000 now its Back Again by a short half head, breathing down her neck is ….. aaah Spring Racing, lets just embrace it!
