Dear Lakeside Hashers The last time we were at this venue was for our Christmas party or the 'Santa run' as I like to call it. Living in landlocked Northcote (awarded the title of the most desirable suburb to live in for 2021) it is always a treat to be back near the beach and hear the roar of the waves and the squawk of the seagulls once again. Dear Lakeside Hashers The Terminus Hotel has been extensively renovated since we were last there to make it virtually unrecognisable on the inside. A very modern (art deco) and formal entrance and dining area contrasts with the ‘sprawling’ beer garden behind it, and thats what it is, sprawling endlessly into neighbouring Fitzroy North. But! don’t get too comfortable! there will be a run/walk over and around the Merri Creek making good use of the many walking tracks and pathways in the area. Dear Lakeside Hashers Quick Lay has come up with a new venue for us to meet at and in an area we possibly haven’t run in before. For those coming by car the Quick Lay recommends parking in Union St and walking across to the Gardens. Getting there by train to Windsor Station, it is a 10 minute walk following a pathway through Windsor Siding to Union St and on to Gladstone Gardens. Albert Park Lake is reasonably close by and I imagine the run/walk will weave its way in that direction. Is it possible that we will dip our toes in its waters this week and the next, on our 38th anniversary run? Twice in a fortnight?! Oh please, be still my beating heart!
