Dear Lakeside Hashers
We are in for a treat this week. Hampton! Now how close to the beach is that? Me, Im from landlocked Northcote, postcoad 3070. I stare at Melways page 76 and envisage a run that takes us closer to the sea and the running tracks of sand which makes one want to throw off the running shoes and … go for a paddle! Ooh the sand between the toes!. And yes, we also welcome Cheesecake and Back Again back to Hash. We have missed you! We know your run will be a beauty so come along Hashers, take the train away from the city, feel the sea breeze in your hair, kick up your heels and … enjoy!

Dear GM, Committee and other rif-raf of LSH3 (like me),
As an ex-GM-twice of LSH3, something has come across my path (today) that
makes me think we really should have part of this week's circle discussing
our travels in the past: why not Italy - say, Firenze or Pisa, Lerici and
taking lessons on how to make pasta, followed by the sights and sounds of
New York.
Surely there must be someone in the hash who has travelled to those
beautiful places for a memorable holiday. We all need to hear about and see
pictures of the holiday to make us drool with jealousy. if they can still
remember.
I'd like to offer a beautiful prize to someone who has been to those places
IF they can bring photographs to the hash on Wednesday.

Dear Lakeside Hashers
The blurb: We're an independent micro brewery and bar serving small batch
craft beer from tank to tap. Housed in a former mechanics garage, it has 12
beer taps and an al fresco beer garden serving fresh frothies from tank to
tap.
The run: NIckelB - aka the River Whisperer - will weave his magic in, around
and over the mighty Yarra River. Dig out and wear his 80th Birthday run
t-shirt. What about the poem on its back, a reworking of Bob Dylan's Blowin'
in the Wind:
"How many trails must a man run down before he calls it a day?
Yes 'n' how many years can a Hasher run
Before he calls it a day?
Yes 'n' how many years can a Hasher run
Before they find legs give way?
Yes 'n' how many aches will it take till he knows
It is time to say nay nay?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind.
The answer is blowin' in the wind."
Good job NickelB. Says it all.

Lakeside Hashers,
There are two choices for food. Chicken Central and Zia’s Café. Both these are on opposite corners to our hash rendezvous.
Zia’s café closes at 10.30 pm and sells a wide range of pizzas from gourmet to traditional. The price varies according to filling and size. People could order before the run to pick up when they think they will be ready to eat. With Chicken Central they say that to be sure they have enough chicken people should order on line. Lotsa Fun will pick the orders up at 7.55 pm just before they close. To order on line go to www.chickencentral.com.au. Select on line order Hawthorn select from the menu which ranges from whole chickens to quarter chickens to chicken burgers, potato chips, salads etc. DO NOT order a menu which includes drinks as the Ramblers Ale Works sells soft drinks as well as beer and other alcoholic drinks. Give a pick up time of 7.55 pm.
You need to order on line if they want to be sure of getting chicken.

"Hi Everyone this was my run last night in the foggy dark night.
We started with golden gate park and ran to and through land end with the sound of of fog horns from ships passing under the bridge.
Lots of very steep hills through the streets then back in the park on a winding sandy track under graffitied bridges full of homeless people snoring. A bit scary to not loose the pack as wild Kyoto’s roam the woods.
The down downs of 50+ people welcomed me. Tradition is to make newbies sing a song, tell a joke, or flash a body part.
Beer on tap from the back of a van accompanied by unhealthy but good snacks."
